16 And his disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.17 And in the evening he cometh with the twelve.18 And as they** sat** and did eat, Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, One of you which eateth with me shall betray me.
because of THIS passage...
Exodus 12:11 And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the Lord's passover.
I maintain that it was THIS FIRST PASCHAL LAMB MEAL ALONE which was eaten in haste, with the Israelis ready to march because this was just before God's exodus from Egypt for them. I cannot find any Scriptural indication, nor any Israeli/Jewish writings saying that the lamb was always eaten while the partakers stood up except for this first instance. yes, I know many things had been changed in passover between the first one, and JESUS' last one, such as the fact that the Jews of Jesus' time didn't smear the lambs' blood on their door frames.
However, if I'm wrong, and the paschal meal WAS eaten while standing in Jesus' time as a man, please correct me and explain.
