Hey guys....I can't help but smile a bit as I have been away from the forums for a bit....and see everything is still the same. :) I love the topic though, because in it I find ample opportunity to confess Jesus as the Lord, and that is THE LORD, the one and only and beside him there is no other. My two cents here.....the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost is one name, not three. In fact, the three being one is in regards to the Father, Word, and Holy Ghost, not the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. The Lord stated that he and his Father are one, that is two that are one as found in Scripture regarding the Son, yet the three that are one, is the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost. The Scripture states that Christ is all, and in all, and that God is all in all. What exactly does ALL mean to you guys? Lol....I only know of one definition. In the end of things, what is all but that which is eternal life?

God is one Spirit, as the Lord says "God is a Spirit....", the question and strife we run into is in determining how the three subsistences are distinct from one another, and it's very simple really, and it is all in what they are called in the NT, not the OT. The solidarity of one God of all gods, one Creator of all creation, is firmly established in the OT, but the NT reveals three by way of the revelation of Jesus Christ given to his Apostles and given witness to and confirmed by the signs, and miracles, etc. seen of many witnesses. As Hebrews teaches us, let us give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, namely what Christ reveals to us in these last days, over that which was spoken in time past by the prophets at sundry times and divers manners. For if all that which was spoken in time past was steadfast, how shall we escape if we neglect what God has spoken today, not by angels, but by his own Son? The Father begat the Son and spoke the Word which was made flesh, or prepared a body. The Holy Ghost is the Spirit that dwells in that body. All three are in essence ONE, or in other words....essentially one for they are one Spirit, one God, one Lord, and are revealed as distinct from one another by these characteristics, not by names for there is only one name, and yes, the soundings may be different, but essentially they are all one name by which we are saved and by which we baptize. Whether the name be Jehovah, LORD, Lord, Emmanuel, The Word of God, The Branch, Jesus of Nazareth, Christ, they are all one name. Many works, but still one work of one God. Such is a silly notion really, to distinguish Jesus from the Father by name, if Jesus and his Father are one, which they are, then Jesus is Jehovah as well as the Father, and the Holy Ghost are also Jehovah. However, being known by Jehovah, is distinctly Jewish which is specifically in regards to the Christ of the Jews sent to the lost sheep of Israel. Such reasoning that Jehovah is used solely for "the Father" shows a lack of understanding of what constitutes a name in Scripture. The name simply isn't syllables and a distinction of sounds, for that differs with language and dialect. A name is something much more than sound waves traveling through the air, for even a deaf person who has never heard the sound in their life, and a person who lacks any means of communication, can still know the name. The NAME is the Authority, the very Person of God, his will, his desire, his purpose, his work, everything he is is his name, and everything he is is the Father, and also the Son, and also the Holy Ghost, yet the distinction between the Son and the Word is the body, which is the church. The only distinction the different soundings serve is how God relates to a certain people, a specific work, yet essentially there is only one name, and that is the name of the Almighty, the Lord.

The Revelation of Jesus Christ is the New Testament, and it is the revelation of eternal life, the eternal Gospel which all of you would do well to focus your attention to rather than this business of sounds. Hear this....

Exo 6:3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.

How many are speaking here? Two or one? What is the name of God Almighty? What did Abraham call God? He called him Lord, Adonai, which is Jehovah's name, in fact it is THE NAME of God Almighty. However, what distinction does Jehovah bring? Easy, it is obvious if you take the time to think it through, and it is opposite of what Art concluded.

Gen 18:1 And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;
Gen 18:2 And he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,
Gen 18:3 And said, My Lord, if now I have found favor in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant:
Gen 18:4 Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree:
Gen 18:5 And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for therefore are ye come to your servant. And they said, So do, as thou hast said.

Gen 18:17 And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do;
Gen 18:18 Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?
Gen 18:19 For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.
Gen 18:20 And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous;
Gen 18:21 I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.
Gen 18:22 And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the LORD.

There were three men that appeared to Abraham, but he only speaks to one, and that is the LORD. When the men, the two angels went toward Sodom, the LORD stayed behind to talk to Abraham whom Abraham addressed as Lord, or Adonai which is the name of God Almighty, not only the name for the Son, but the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Yet Jehovah and Adonai is the very same God, Father and Son, only the name Jehovah was not known until the Exodus. Jehovah is a man of war as the song says. The name Jehovah distinguishes the one man apart from the Spirit that is God. The Father is not a man, for he was never made flesh, the Holy Ghost is not a man, the Son whose name is the LORD is a man for the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us. It was he whom Abraham stood yet before when the angels left for Sodom, and it was he who went his way as it is written....

Gen 18:33 And the LORD went his way, as soon as he had left communing with Abraham: and Abraham returned unto his place.

It is clear that Abraham drew near to the physical presence of the LORD. This was no angel, but God himself in flesh, the Lord Jesus. The same who "rode a cherub", the same one who laid the foundations of the earth, and will wrap up the heavens as a garment.....the LORD.

 Psa 102:18 This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD.
Psa 102:19 For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the LORD behold the earth;
Psa 102:20 To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death;
Psa 102:21 To declare the name of the LORD in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem;
Psa 102:22 When the people are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve the LORD.
Psa 102:23 He weakened my strength in the way; he shortened my days.
Psa 102:24 I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: thy years are throughout all generations.
Psa 102:25 Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands.
Psa 102:26 They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed:
Psa 102:27 But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.

This same passage is attributed to be speaking of the Son in Hebrews. The subject is God, and he is called the LORD, or Jehovah, and it is speaking specifically of the Son of God. So this whole business of Adonai referring to Jesus and Jehovah referring to the Father is actually quite backwards and essentially a hinderance to the revelation of who the Lord Jesus is. The angel of the LORD is Jesus's angel, the same one sent to John, whose name is secret, whom Jesus sent to testify of the things written in that book to the churches. The same angel that was revealed as a fire in a bush that didn't consume, the pillar of smoke by day and fire by night, that same angel is Jesus's angel, the angel of the LORD. The thing is, by way of this angel Jesus spoke to the fathers in the OT, however in these last days, he spoke to us, or should I say his Apostles, which was the one time delivering of the faith (Jude) by his own bodily presence and the things he spoke are recorded for us in the NT which the Holy Ghost brought to their remembrance. The name of by which we must be saved is not Jehovah, but the name that Abraham knew, and Adam, (that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus) and that is the Lord for that is the name of God Almighty, however Jehovah is the Jewish national name of God by which he was known of the Jews and not Gentiles, and Jesus came to the Jew first, and yes, after the flesh he is specifically a Jew, the King of the Jews, and he is the LORD. God Almighty, the Father, was never specific to the Jews for Adam, Enoch, and Abel were no Jews, but the name Jehovah was revealed to reveal their King, the Lord Jesus Christ, not the Father. For only in the revelation of Jesus Christ, the Jewish Messiah is the Father revealed by the Holy Ghost.

I am not your teacher and only wish to share things with you that you may in turn try them by your own knowledge of the Lord. I really don't know any thing. Still learning and growing in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Praying for you and all men that you would also come to the knowledge of the truth and continue to grow in it. I am a sinner, but I have a hope that God through Jesus Christ our Lord will deliver me from my present situation of being a sinner and deliver me from this vile body and I thank him for this promise of eternal life. This is my faith that I share with all my brethren in the Lord who we patiently wait for. Jesus Christ IS come in the flesh.

Rom 8:22-25  For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
