As I have said either on this thread or on another, the Lord atoned for our sins but it is up to us whether we accept the grace in our lives or not. If we die with a stain of venial sin or an attachment to sin in our lives then we have to purify our souls for that.

However, some say that when a Christian seex to live a morally-upright life, he is practicing legalism. Well, I must wonder if the antinominianst is truly saved, as, after my own salvation I desired to sin no more, and avoided that which could be construed as sin, such as drinking beer. While I KNOW an occasional beer is NOT sinful, everyone in our society, Christian or not, believes Christians don't drink beer at all-so I don't. When we live in sin it hinders our walk with Him however He is not going to turn His back on us because of Sin. If we are saved we will be convicted by the Holy Spirit to repent. If we are not convicted I would question our salvation. We don't get away with anything, there are consequences to sin and God will discipline His people. When I have more time I'll try to start a topic on it and go into more detail. This short explanation doesn't do it justice.
